My name is Tess King, owner of Senrud Artistry. I am a local Nevada artist, landscape photographer, and private group art class teacher. I graduated college in 2011 receiving my Associates of Arts degree in Art History and General Studies.
I loved my grade school art teacher, Tam Foree, she helped me with value scales and perspective which helped to spark my love for art. I loved creating art so much that I continued taking every art class which was available to me in middle school and high school. My senior year at SCHS, Spring Creek High School, I was awarded a scholarship from ECAC, Elko County Art Club which I used to take Art classes during college at GBC.
I practice all types of art mediums; drawing, painting, colored pencil, charcoal, mural painting, and many more. I am mostly drawn to drawing with pencil, I also love acrylic painting, and have found a new love in oil landscape painting. My style ranges from landscape to abstract. These past few years I have produced a lot of acrylic paintings either for my classes or for my consignment projects. I have really enjoyed painting for others. A lot of my motivation comes from being outdoors. I love drawing or painting the things that I see around me. My family has always given my tons of support and almost all of them ask for artwork for special occasions, instead of gifts!
I started my art business Senrud Artistry in 2019 so that I could focus on my art at a new level. I have done a lot of consignment work for businesses and individuals. I continue to hang my art in businesses around Elko, Nevada. I am the Gallery Director of the Elko County Art Club. I teach many different types of Art classes and really enjoy seeing the outcomes of some of the art projects. Most people are nervous to create something through art, but I think everyone having unique individual expressionism is awesome! I love seeing adults leave with a piece of art that they have created and see the change that comes from them just letting go and producing their own artwork.
My goals are to be able to create artwork at least once a week; I wish it were once a day, until the end of my days. One day, I want to have a studio to keep, create, and show my artwork. I would love to sell my art at a worldwide level. To keep art at the forefront of myself and not let the burden of finances and time take over my production of artwork. Traveling around with my family on vacations I always loved going into Art Studios and seeing all the wonderful creations that come from everyone’s art expression. I would like to enjoy creating art for the rest of my life. I would like to share SENRUD ARTISTRY with the World!
